MGK Day, 2024–2026
Three years of Cleveland’s city-sanctioned day for mgk: artwork, merchandise and the weekend itself.
MGK Day is Cleveland’s annual city-sanctioned celebration of mgk and the city that raised him. Jake has worked on it every year since 2024.
2024
Five days in August built around Progressive Field and the fifth anniversary of Hotel Diablo, with mgk throwing the first pitch at the Guardians game. Jake made the year’s artwork with the artist Mighty Short.
2025
Timed to the release of Lost Americana, with Harley-Davidson, Street League Skateboarding and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The year’s merchandise included mgk × Cleveland Guardians hats.
2026
A full weekend. Friday was the Red Bull Best Trick Contest at Crooked River Skatepark. Saturday moved to North Coast Yard on the downtown waterfront: a tailgate, local vendors, art, the Harley-Davidson City Ride, mgk × Cleveland Guardians t-shirts, and a closing set from mgk and Wiz Khalifa with fireworks over the lake. Floor 13 ran the poster program; artists submitted designs and Mike Giant drew the official poster. Proceeds went to Cleveland schools and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
